Tulane’s Department of Anesthesiology is committed to developing robust practice management didactics for our residency program. In support of that goal it is my pleasure to announce a relationship between the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University and the Department of Anesthesiology. The Tulane Department of Anesthesiology is the first in the country to introduce the opportunity to acquire a Masters in Business Administration during residency training. Residents in good academic and clinical standing will be eligible to apply for the Professional MBA program in their first year. The P-MBA curriculum for our residents was designed with a coordinated effort between the Program Director of the Department of Anesthesiology and the Curriculum Committee for the School of Business. This effort has resulted in a program that can be started in January of the CA-1 year and completed by the end of the CA-3 year. In addition the Dean of the A.B Freeman School of Business, Angelo DeNisi, PhD, has awarded the Department of Anesthesiology a full scholarship for the P-MBA. This scholarship will be awarded to the most deserving anesthesia resident after an interview process with both the Department of Anesthesiology and the School of Business. It is the intent of Tulane’s Department of Anesthesiology to be a national leader in the development of practice management education for anesthesia residents, and to that end we are proud to introduce this groundbreaking educational opportunity. |
